Apple wins in patent infringement trial against Wi-LAN |

A federal jury in Texas found that Apple had not infringed on a patent related to CDMA and HSPA communications technologies owned by patent-licensing firm Wi-LAN.The jury also found Wednesday that two of the claims of U.S. patent no. RE37,802 patent were invalid.Wi-LAN began litigation against several technology companies for alleged infringement of two of its patents in 2011. The other patent in the litigation was patent no. 5,282,222, related to the use of Wi-Fi and LTE, but Apple was not accused of infringing the patent.Since filing, six of the seven defendants have signed license and settlement agreements to resolve the litigation, according to Wi-LAN.To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here
