Cell phone technology helps patients manage diabetes |

Researchers have found that mobile phone software is effective for the self-management of diabetes. The study is one of the first to examine the new field of mobile health. Researchers found that a key measure of blood sugar control -- blood levels of hemoglobin A1c -- was lowered by an average of 1.9 percent over one year in patients using the mobile health program.
