The Apple Store offers its factory-refurbished Apple iPad mini 16GB WiFi Tablet in Black/Slate, model no. MD528LL/A, or White & Silver, model no. MD531LL/A, for $279 with free shipping. That's $39 under the lowest total price we could find for a new unit and the best price we've seen for a refurbished unit with a factory warranty, although we saw a refurb that didn't include a warranty and required pickup for $30 less in May. (For further comparison, we saw a new unit with a $58 Rakuten credit for $11 more last week, since expired.) This 0.7-lb. tablet features an A5 1GHz dual-core processor, 7.9" 1024x768 LED-backlit touchscreen LCD, 16GB internal storage, 802.11n wireless, Bluetooth 4.0, 1.2-megapixel FaceTime camera, 720p video recording, 3-axis gyro, accelerometer, up to 10 hours of battery life, and iOS 6.
Also available is the factory-refurbished Apple iPad mini 32GB WiFi Tablet in Black/Slate, model no. MD529LL/A, or White & Silver, model no. MD532LL/A, for $359 with free shipping. That's $40 less than the lowest total price we could find for a new unit and the best price we've seen for a refurbished unit with an Apple warranty, although we saw a refurb without a warranty for $9 less two weeks ago. A 1-year Apple warranty applies to both models (the same as with new units).
