Review: Sizester lets you edit and upload your images fast

People upload images online for many reasons, whether it's to prepare for an eBay auction, write a Craigslist ad, or send holiday snaps to friends and relatives. Sizester ($10, 15-day free trial) is a desktop app that aims to streamline the process of preparing those images for public view. The first nice thing you'll notice about Sizester is that you can drag the photo into the app using your mouse. Resizing is then simple and fast: You use your mouse to zoom in from the corners until you get the size you need. The size in pixels is updated in real-time as you zoom so you can see right away how big or small you're making it. Or if you have a set size in mind, you can enter it in the control panel area and watch your image immediately resize. Using Sizester's very intuitive controls, you can edit your image in different ways. Sizester also shows the file size in kilobytes as you resize, which is useful if you blog, and the platform has an image size limit, such as Wordpress. If you are struggling to get below a certain file size, you can also use a slider to lower the quality of the image, which will shrink the file. Once you have the image in the size you need, and it's ready to go, Sizester then offers you the option to upload the image to various cloud services such as Dropbox, Flickr, Imgur, and Photobucket. This is where I encountered the first bugs. Uploading to Dropbox and Imgur worked flawlessly, but trying to upload to Flickr encountered error messages.
