Apple announces new iMacs: 22" for $1,299, 27" for $1,799 |

Apple (finally) updated its iMac line of desktops. They still feature either a 21.5" or 27" display, although they're 80% thinner than their predecessors. The base models sport Intel Core i5 "Ivy Bridge" processors, 8GB RAM, 1TB HD, and NVIDIA Kepler video. (They can be configured with Apple's new Fusion drive, which combines a 128GB SSD with either a 1TB or 3TB hard drive.) The base configs:
Apple iMac 21.5" Core i5 Dual 2.7GHz for $1,299 (shipping in November)
Apple iMac 27" Core i5 Quad 2.9GHz for $1,799 (shipping in December)
